Description
Introduces the study of accounting information systems, with a particular focus on a range of issues relating to the design and development of such systems, including alternative systems development methodologies, systems documentation, controls, and information systems ethics. Other topics include the acquisition and use of accounting software, databases and data modelling. Students are assumed to have a sound knowledge of manual accounting information systems, in particular the flow of data in such systems from source documents to financial statements.
