Description
This unit introduces students to the theory and practice of accounting information systems. It includes a study of the following broad areas: (1) information technology and the documentation of systems; (2) the use of different systems, and electronic commerce; (3) system planning, development and control; (4) computer ethics, computer crime, and other contemporary topics. The primary aim of the unit is to develop participants' understanding of issues relevant to their possible roles as users, managers, and designers of information systems, and as people who are impacted upon by the use of technology.
